What a battle between asian emperors taught us about data management and construction digitalisation.

The battle of Salsu took place in 612 between the Goguryeo (~ Korea) and the Chinese empires.

The Chinese emperor invaded the Goguryeo kingdom with an army above 1.000.000 men. Part of the invading army entered enemy territory and managed to successfully siege Yodong fortress.

However, the commander in charge of the assault was not authorised to accept surrender conditions. Between the come and goes of the messengers carrying the messages to consult with the emperor, the defenders resupplied and were able to hold the siege.

This was the precedent to one of the bloodiest battles in history, with 300.000 Chinese casualties versus 10.000 Koreans.
